TechniSat chooses Heiler Software for multichannel and e-commerce

Centralized product data management across all distribution channels

June 28, 2010 — TechniSat is introducing a corporation-wide Product Information Management (PIM) system. The solution from Heiler Software will enable TechniSat to centrally manage all product data and communications in multichannel commerce. TechniSat develops and manufactures electronic entertainment and IT products in Germany and Europe. "Searching for product information consumes valuable resources if product data is spread across various systems," said Stefan Kön, TechniSat's CEO. "The Heiler suite is exactly what we had in mind for centralizing all our product information on a single platform. It will enable us to optimize internal and external communication of our products, and to access key information faster and more efficiently." In addition to TechniSat's e-commerce websites, the PIM system will supply up-to-date product data to the B2B shop, serving 10,000 dealers, and the BMEcat system for wholesalers. The enterprise PIM system will also allow TechniSat to manage and automate the translation of product information and the production of printed catalogs. "As well as enjoying all the benefits of effective external product communication that a centralized PIM system brings, TechniSat can use the Heiler suite to streamline its internal processes and make them more transparent," said Frank Schmidt, a senior executive at Heiler. Even TechniSat's product development department will be able to release details of new products into the PIM. All employees will have access to identical information about the company's products, which will simplify the process of translating the information into as many as 15 languages.
