Catalog management solution of Heiler also successful in upper-middle class
MANN+HUMMEL goes for Premium Business CatalogStuttgart, 26. March, 2002 – MANN+HUMMEL, manufacturer of filter systems for the automotive industry, applies the catalog system Premium Business Catalog of Heiler Software AG for his new e-procurement system. Till the end of the year approximately 500 employees will place their orders for office supplies but also for strategic goods directly with this catalog solution.
Heiler Software AG continues extending its leading position in the automotive sector: after DaimlerChrysler, Benteler, and OTTO FUCHS METALLWERKE, MANN+HUMMEL has now decided to go for the electronic catalog solution Premium Business Catalog by Heiler, and for the corresponding service offers.
With approximately 8,000 employees and an annual turnover of ca. 1.86 billion DM, MANN+HUMMEL belong to the big subcontractors for the automotive industry. The company produces air and fuel filters, as well as other filtering systems for the industry. The whole procurement system of the company will work with Enterprise Buyer Professional (EBP), the e-procurement solution of SAP. The users will place their orders directly in the Premium Business Catalog that is completely integrated with EBP where the data are further processed. Moreover Heiler Software AG takes care of the complete supplier enabling, that is to say, the connection of the suppliers of MANN+HUMMEL with the e-procurement and catalog solution.
In the pilot stage approximately 200 users apply the Heiler Premium Business Catalog, until November 2002 another 300 will join them. In the beginning they will order office supplies via the new application, up to the middle of the year it is planned to expand it to strategic goods such as tools, and labor-safety materials.
"Only a solution which does not only comprise the software, but also the necessary services, e. g. for the preparation and adjustment of the suppliers’ catalogs, can lead to the expected savings in the procurement sector", explains Erhard Kimmel, purchasing manager at MANN+HUMMEL. "We have decided to go for Heiler Software AG, because only Heiler can cover both aspects."
"The MANN+HUMMEL project is nearly a classic example for the current development in e-procurement", explains Rolf Heiler, CEO of Heiler Software AG in Stuttgart. "By now companies know that e-procurement can only work with a powerful catalog management. This is the only base on which the logical step towards e-procurement of strategic goods can be successful."
