Lieken relies on Heiler Catalog Services
From now on, bakery group Lieken will be using Heiler Catalog Services to organize all purchasing activitiesDetroit, June 30, 2008 - Heiler Software has won a new key e-procurement customer, Lieken AG. In future, the bakery group will order all of the products and materials it requires for maintenance, repair and operational business with SAP SRM and the integrated SAP-based solution, Heiler Business Catalog. The turn-key solution is completed by Heiler Catalog Manager and Heiler Catalog Services.
Lieken AG, the umbrella brand of Kamps Bakeries, will use its new software solutions to organize more than 60 different catalogs, including lists of maintenance and bakery equipment and office material, as well as services. In total, approximately 850,000 items can be accessed, and this number is increasing all the time. The system supplied by Heiler supports Lieken's “lead-buyer concept”, whereby exactly one buyer in the group is responsible for the purchasing of all products in a certain product group. The central lead buyers will now use the integrated end-to-end solution from Heiler to release the catalog data, which local buyers can then access easily thanks to a user-friendly search function.
“Now we can strategically bundle the purchasing requirements of all of our individual branches”, explains Jost H. Buthmann, Head of Central Buying at Lieken. “Bundling allows us to obtain more favorable terms and conditions, in other words, to save money. We expect to make savings on a large scale, which will justify the costs and help us boost our revenues.”
As well as optimizing its purchasing activates, Lieken hopes that the software solutions will streamline its internal processes. The international bakery group has to regularly select complex product data from the large number of product catalogs on the market, format this data and integrate it into its internal systems. Heiler Catalog Services in conjunction with Heiler Business Catalog and Heiler Catalog Manager will help them do just that. The solution will manage supplier and product data and also provides a reliable means of integrating poorly structured catalogs.
SAP SRM was implemented by Heiler partner Apsolut in collaboration with Lieken IT within the space of four months.
